This site features the works of Sheldon H. Preskorn, M.D., an internationally recognized, board certified psychiatrist and researcher in the area of psychiatric medications.

Preskorn.com is designed to make available a selection of Dr. Preskorn's columns and books on principles relevant to the safe and effective use of psychiatric medications and the identification and treatment of individuals suffering from clinical depression. The columns either review a pharmacologic principle relevant to the safe and effective use of psychiatric medications or present clinical cases that illustrate such principles.

Sheldon H. Preskorn, M.D. is Professor and Chair for the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Kansas School of Medicine - Wichita. He is also the President and Medical Director of the Psychiatric Research Institute, an affiliate of Via Christi Health System in Wichita, Kansas.

An international lecturer and the author of over 300 scientific and professional articles, Dr. Preskorn has received continuous grant funding since 1978 for studies in the areas of psychopharmacology, neuroscience, and psychiatric illnesses including affective and anxiety disorders and schizophrenia.
